Brazil announces launch of free trade agreement between Mercosur and Palestine

Brazil announced the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement between the Union of South American Nations (Merexur) and Palestine. By activating the agreement, it became the first country in the Union to start implementing the agreement signed in December 2011.

Brazil's Foreign Ministry said other member states will discuss launching the agreement at a summit this month, following a request from Brasilia to Paraguay, which holds the presidency for this term.
