Real Madrid announce date for Mbappe's awards ceremony at Bernabeu

Real Madrid today (Wednesday) announced the date and time for the debut of its new French striker Kylian Mbappé at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Mbappe's participation in the European Nations Cup with the French national team ended yesterday Tuesday after losing 2-1 to the Spanish national team in the semi-final.

After months of uncertainty and waiting, the former French Paris Saint-Germain striker has become a regular player of the Madrid club since July 1.

However, the 25-year-old forward has yet to be photographed in a Real shirt or presented to fans, but that long wait is about to end after the Merengue confirmed today the date for the presentation of his star.

Mbappe successfully won all domestic titles with Saint-Germain, but failed to lead him to the Champions League, reaching the final with the team in 2020, where he lost 0-1 to German Bayern Munich.

Date of Mbappe's awards ceremony at the Bernabeu

“Real Madrid announces that on Tuesday, July 16 at 12pm, our player Kylian Mbappé will be present at the Santiago Bernabéu,” the club, headed by Florentino Perez, said in a press statement.

Mbappe's Real Madrid shirt number

According to Real Madrid, Mbappe will wear the No. 9 shirt next season, the number worn by his compatriot Karim Benzema, who moved to Saudi Arabia's Al Ittihad last season.

The length and value of Mbappé's contract

According to Spanish media reports, the outline of the five-year contract has been determined, under which Mbappe will receive one of the highest salaries in the club's history, estimated at around 15 million net euros per year, which is slightly higher than current stars Vinicius and Bellingham, but this salary is still a long way from his estimated annual salary of 70 million euros (excluding bonuses) at Saint-Germain.

His free transfer will be accompanied by a signing bonus of more than €100 million and an unprecedented allocation of image rights.

The capital club expects to compensate the cost of this expensive deal through the multiple economic benefits brought by the French player (such as sponsorship contracts, jersey sales, match tickets…).

Very popular on social media, with about 117 million followers on Instagram and about 14 million followers on “X” (formerly Twitter), Mbappe was included in the list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2023. The Times of America magazine became the 2022 World Cup champion along with his former Argentine colleague Lionel.

Mbappe to give media interviews

Kylian Mbappe will soon begin his adventure at Real Madrid and, as is customary at the Spanish club, the striker will take part in a special protocol ceremony.

The Madrid club also confirmed in a press release today that Mbappe will then be presented to the fans at the Santiago Bernabeu. Perhaps there will be a chance to see him dribbling the ball.

After being introduced to the fans, the France captain will answer questions from reporters along with Florentino Perez.

Real Madrid's league season begins against Mallorca in the league and fans will be waiting to see the rising star in action against rising Real Valladolid in the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.
