The Telluride Film Festival, a key part of the fall festival that kicks off awards season and perhaps some of the main Oscar contenders, has announced a wide lineup of films for its landmark 50th edition. The festival kicks off Thursday and runs through Labor Day and will feature the world premiere of Oscar-winner Alexander Payne’s film Retainers (Focus Features), Emerald Vinyl Saltburn (Amazon) and Free solo Narrative feature by filmmakers Elizabeth Chai Vasarheli and Jimmy Chin Naiad (Netflix).
Other world premieres in the line-up include Andrew Hay We are all strangers (Scout) with Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott; George C. Wolf Rustin (Netflix), starring Colman Domingo in the lead role; Ethan Hawke Wildcat starring daughter Maya Hawke; Follow-up to Bhutanese director Paw Chuening Dorje’s Oscar-nominated international breakthrough Lunana: Yak in the classroom, Sure to be talked about Monk and the gun.
