Watch… Al-Shorta wins Iraq Cup for the first time in history | Sports

Iraqi Football League champions Al-Shorta defeated Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya 1-0 in the final yesterday Wednesday, winning the local cup for the first time in history and achieving a double championship.

Al-Shorta's victory was thanks to Brazilian Lucas Sants, who scored the only goal of the game in the 51st minute.

The Police's top scorer Abdul Majid Abu Bakr was absent due to injury but was not affected.

Al-Shorta reached the final of the competition for the seventh time in its history, losing twice to Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya.

Al-Shorta and Al-Jawiya advanced to the finals by defeating Al-Naft and Al-Zawraa by one point, 1-0, respectively.

Al-Zawraa is the team that has won the cup the most times (16 times), followed by Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya (6 times) and Al-Talaba, which was eliminated twice this season.
