“When your best friend is the best”

Taylor Swift praises her best friend Selena Gomez for her new song, “Single Soon”.

On Saturday, the Cruel Summer singer, 33, took to her Instagram Story to share a clip made up of clips from the song’s adjacent music video originally posted by the actress, 31.

“When your best friend is the best,” the 12-time Grammy winner wrote in her post — which Selena also re-shared on her own account on Sunday. “I’m going to dance to this forever, I think.”

Last Thursday, the Only Murders in the Building star dropped her first single in years with a wild and fun music video to go along with the catchy song.

After an outpouring of support from her fans, Selena shared a short but cute post on her Instagram Story explaining the special meaning behind the song and thanking her supporters.

Over the weekend, she posted a black and white photo from a nightclub scene in the music video for “Single Soon.”

Addressing her many fans, the Rare Beauty founder wrote, “Thank you guys for all the love on Single Soon!!!”.

Then, in her commentary, she gave an insight into the importance of the song to her.

She added, “It’s a fun anthem about feeling good about yourself and loving your own company.”

Selena had also previously revealed that the empowering song would serve as a teaser for her upcoming studio album — tentatively titled SG3.

No additional details or release date for her upcoming album has been announced yet.

Taylor and Selena have been friends for a long time since they met through the Jonas Brothers.

In 2008, the two began their long friendship when Taylor was dating Joe and Selena was dating Nick.

A month after their double date, Taylor attended the premiere of Selena, Another Cinderella Story, to show her support.

Since then, the duo has attended numerous red carpets, numerous award ceremonies, and celebrated a number of birthdays together.

Selena has also made surprise appearances on Taylor’s concert tours, including Speak Now and Reputation.

Most recently, Selena attended Taylor’s concert in Los Angeles as well as in Arlington, Texas, amid her ongoing career-spanning Eras Tour with her younger sister Gracie.

Selena accidentally started a temporary feud with her friend Francia Raisa after she called Taylor her “only friend in the industry” during an interview with Rolling Stone.

Francia, who donated her kidney to Selena, was apparently resentful of Selena, although the Wizards Of Waverly Place star later clarified that she was referring to the music industry, which doesn’t mean Francia can’t remain a good friend in the film and TV industry.

Fans also believed a feud was brewing after Francia was not mentioned anywhere in Selena’s documentary My Mind & Me, but they have since taken steps to mend their friendship.
