Gov. Greg Abbott has waged a legal battle with federal agencies over his immigration policies

Abbott has been locked in a long legal battle with the Biden-era Justice Department over Texas' efforts to stem the flow of illegal immigration into the United States. Tensions were exacerbated by a Supreme Court ruling earlier this week that allowed federal Border Patrol agents to remove razor wire that Texas authorities had installed along the US-Mexico border.
