French league substitute player ejected Fastest Sport
Some substitutes in the French Football League have broken negative records by receiving red cards seconds or minutes after coming on.
Ghana star Andre Ayew came on as a second-half substitute in Le Havre’s clash with Nantes on Sunday but was sent off less than three minutes later for stamping on the Swiss. Eli Komert, Nantes player.
According to the Opta website, after this quick expulsion, Andre became one of the fastest substitute players to receive a red card in the league since the 2006/07 season. In addition to Andre, the list also includes his brother Jordan Ayew as well as Frenchmen Benjamin Mendy, John Cabaye and Samuel Garncil.

Andre’s expulsion was not the fastest among substitutes in Ligue 1, as Frenchman Benjamin Mendy of Lorient currently holds the record. In September 2015, he was shown a red card 47 seconds after coming on as a substitute. Competing with his former team Olympique de Marseille.
Followed by Yohan Cabaye, who was eliminated by the referee in just 52 seconds when he played for his old club Lille in September 2009.

- Benjamin Mendy (Olympique Marseille – September 2015): Sent off after 47 seconds
- Yohan Cabaye (Lille – September 2009): Sent off after 52 seconds
- Samuel Garendcier (Monaco – October 2018): Sent off after 1 minute, 51 seconds
- Jordan Ayew (Olympique Marseille – February 2013): Sent off after 1 minute, 51 seconds.
- Andre Ayew (Le Havre – November 2023): Sent off after 2 minutes, 24 seconds
