Israel ready for ‘any scenario’ with Iran – defense minister — RT World News
The country was on high alert due to Tehran's threats to retaliate for an Israeli army air strike on an Iranian consulate in Syria.
Israel is prepared for any scenario that may develop regarding its tense relations with Iran, according to Defense Minister Yoav Galant. The ministry made this statement after Gallant held a meeting “Evaluation of the operational situation” A meeting with senior military and intelligence officials on Sunday.
Israel put its army on high alert this week, suspending the leave of combat units and strengthening air defenses in anticipation of a possible attack from Iran after the killing of senior Iranian military commanders in an air strike in Syria. Tehran blamed the attack on the Israeli army and vowed revenge.
He added, “The defense system has completed its preparations to respond to any scenario that may develop with Iran.” Gallant said after the meeting, according to the Jerusalem Post. No further details were revealed about the preparations.
The deadly attack on the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital, Damascus, earlier this week killed seven officials of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' Quds Force, including top Iranian General Mohammad Reza Zahedi. Israel did not explicitly acknowledge that it was behind the attack, but Gallant implicitly hinted at his responsibility in a statement issued Wednesday by Israel. “It strikes our enemies all over the Middle East.”

Tehran denied involvement in the October attack but pledged to continue supporting Hamas and other Palestinian groups.
