Liverpool advance to Europa League last 16 campaign

On Thursday night, in the fifth (penultimate) round of the fifth group stage of the European Football League, England’s Liverpool defeated Austria’s Linz 4-0 to advance to the eighth final. They also visited Belgium’s United Saint-Glois and had a goalless draw with French Ligue 1 team Toulouse.

Liverpool moved up to 12 points, four points ahead of nearest rivals Toulouse, ensuring they finish the season top of the group, while Saint-Gloise finished on five points. Three, Linz is at the bottom. Earn 3 points on the standings.

The Reds’ quartet was scored by Luis Diaz (12 points), Cody Gakpo (15 points, 92 points) and Mohamed Salah (51 points, penalty).

In the seventh group, the Czech team Slavia Prague and the Italian team Roma successfully advanced to the group stage.

Slavia Prague defeated host Moldova Sharif Tiraspol 3-2, while Roma drew 1-1 with host Servetus Switzerland.

Slavia Prague tops the standings with 12 points, two points ahead of second-placed Roma, while Servetus is third with five points and Sharif is at the bottom of the standings with one point.

In the eighth group, Germany’s Bayer Leverkusen defeated Swedish host Haken 2-0 to maintain full points, while Azerbaijan Karabakh drew 2-2 with Norwegian host Molde.

Leverkusen, who officially advanced to the finals, increased their points to 15 points after winning all five games, consolidating their lead in the group, while Carlbarg and Molde ranked second and third with 7 points each, and Haken Then continue to remain first in the group. Bottom of the standings, no points.

In the second group, France’s Marseille and England’s Brighton advanced to the knockout rounds.

Brighton beat hosts AEK Athens with a clean goal in Greece, while Marseille beat away Ajax 4-3 in the Netherlands.

Marseille tops the list with 11 points, 1 point ahead of Brighton, AEK Athens ranks third with 4 points, and Ajax ranks bottom with 2 points.
