Today, Monday, the Jordanian national team defeated the humble Malaysian national team 4-0 in the first round of the Asian Nations Football Championship Group 5 at the Al Janub World Cup Stadium.
Jordan opened the scoring with their first real chance through Mahmoud Mardi, who fired a surprise shot from outside the penalty area into the Malaysian goal in the 12th minute.

Yazan Naimat was awarded a penalty after being fouled by Malaysian defender Matthew Davis, and Moussa Tamari converted the ball for Jordan's second goal in the 18th minute.
Al-Naimat, a skilful player, struck quickly and passed the ball to Mahmoud Mardi, who scored his second goal in the 32nd minute, too. The third goal of the “Nshami” team.
In order to save energy before the next two games, Nashama slowed down the pace of the game and relied on counterattacks. Finally, Moussa Tamari scored 5 minutes before the end of regular time.

With the big win, Jordan has three points in Group Five, level with its next opponents South Korea on January 20 at Al Thumama Stadium, while Malaysia will face Bahrain at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
