Today, Monday, the Jordanian national team defeated the humble Malaysian national team 4-0 in the first round of the Asian Nations Football Championship Group 5 at the Al Janub World Cup Stadium.

Jordan opened the scoring with their first real chance through Mahmoud Mardi, who fired a surprise shot from outside the penalty area into the Malaysian goal in the 12th minute.

Yazan Naimat was awarded a penalty after being fouled by Malaysian defender Matthew Davis, and Moussa Tamari converted the ball for Jordan's second goal in the 18th minute.
