Watch.. Mali beat South Africa in Nations Cup and top Group E | Sporting

Mali defeated South Africa 2-0 in the second match of the first round of Group E of the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoire on Tuesday night.

South Africa national team and Egypt's Ahly star Percy Tau kicked the ball high when taking a penalty kick in the 19th minute, squandering his team's chance to advance.

This missed ball was a turning point for Mali, who increased their defensive caution and began to threaten South Africa's goal.

In the second half, Mali sealed the victory with two consecutive goals from Hamare Traore and Lasina Senayoko in the 60th and 66th minutes.

With the victory, Mali's national team moved three points clear of Group E, ahead of Namibia, who beat Tunisia 1-0 earlier on Tuesday, on goal difference.

In the second round, the Mali national team will face Tunisia next Saturday, while the South African and Namibia national teams will face each other on Sunday.
