“World Food News”: Gaza Strip is approaching famine, the situation is unprecedented | News
The World Food Program (WFP) says more than a quarter of Gaza's population has lost supplies and is at risk of starvation.
Arif Hussain, the program's chief economist, warned that mass famine could occur over the next six months if humanitarian access to the region continues to be restricted.
Describing the crisis as “unprecedented”, Hussein said the situation “represents our worst fears, as almost everyone in Gaza suffers from hunger”, stressing that one in four people suffers from hunger.
