The accident, which occurred in the Mongolian capital, killed six people and injured 14 others
A truck carrying 60 tons of liquefied natural gas collided with a car and exploded in the Mongolian capital, Ulaanbaatar. The Mongolian National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said on its website that the explosion occurred near Donjingaraf market in the early hours of Wednesday local time, sparking a fire that quickly spread to a nearby building.
According to initial reports, six people were killed, including three firefighters; 14 others, including three children, were taken to hospital. NEMA said most of those in hospital were being treated for burns.
The explosion was so powerful that the truck was thrown about 40 meters (130 feet). He added that rescue teams moved to the scene and the fire was extinguished.
Dramatic video footage of the incident shows firefighters battling the flames into the night when another series of explosions occurred, damaging building facades and shattering windows. At one point, a huge ball of fire shot into the air as the people filming the video screamed.

The authority said that residents of a nearby residential building were temporarily moved, adding that roads in the area were closed while authorities worked to remove the rubble.
About 30 cars burned as a result of the explosion and the fire that followed. Images shared by NEMA show emergency services at the scene, with flames engulfing the street. Pictures show burned vehicles and extensive damage on the street, with the windows of a nearby school shattered.
