News about the devastated scene in Beit Lahiya after the withdrawal of the occupying forces
On the first day of a four-day temporary truce in the Gaza Strip, Al Jazeera aired scenes of devastation left behind by the Israeli war machine’s withdrawal from Beit Lahiya.
The video, prepared by Al Jazeera’s Anas Sharif, shows the complete destruction of residential areas, mosques, schools and hospitals, all razed to the ground.
Some citizens who had returned to their destroyed homes spoke out, demanding their remaining belongings be taken away, with one saying the place looked as if it had been hit by a nuclear bomb and had been completely destroyed.
