Present survivor medals
A brand new mechanic coming this season is Survivor Medals. Here’s how it works: During gameplay, you’ll need to complete Survivor Quests in Battle Royale or Zero Build. You will be given the task of defeating persistent opponents while also eliminating a certain number of opponents – this seems to prevent camping.
There are seven tiers of medals to be achieved over the course of a season, borrowing the same tier system as loots: Normal, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Exotic and Legendary. Each layer features 10 sub-levels that you have to climb before you get to the next level up through the progression system.
By leveling up in the tiered medal system, you’ll unlock permanent cosmetic rewards, starting with the new ones Precious llama back ornament. The top of each rare level grants an additional cosmetic item, so it looks like these will be important throughout the season for most players.
As with any season of Fortnite, there are sure to be more additions to the loot pool, more map changes, and more story twists and turns, especially as we seem to be heading into another new chapter this winter in what has become an annual event for the game. Fortnite.
