More than 35 million cases are expected to occur in the next quarter century, a new study warns
The World Health Organization's cancer agency expects that global cancer cases will rise to 35 million cases by 2050, an increase of 77% from the numbers announced in 2022.
Forecast data published by the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer on Thursday points to tobacco and alcohol use, as well as obesity and poor air quality, as the primary factors driving the expected increase in cases by 2050.
