Protesting farmers clashed with police in the Polish capital Warsaw on Wednesday amid an ongoing row with Ukraine over grain trade.
The farmers and their supporters gathered outside the Prime Minister's Office and marched towards the Parliament building, where they were met by riot police.
Protesters threw rocks and firecrackers at officers, who responded with pepper spray, tear gas and stun grenades. Scattered fights broke out, and police used batons to push away the angry farmers.

Farmers came out to denounce the “Green Deal” laws approved by the European Union, which aim to mitigate the effects of climate change. “These are ridiculous regulations that farmers must adhere to, which will only worsen the situation and raise production costs and product prices.” One protester told AFP.
Polish farmers have also closed entry points on the border with Ukraine, arguing that imports of cheap grain and other products are killing their business.
Kiev denies selling Ukrainian grain in Poland, but has criticized protesters for harming the Ukrainian economy during its ongoing armed conflict with Russia. “I have long since outgrown economics and morality.” Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said on Sunday.
