It is based on the Korean language electrical Reports indicate that Samsung Display won approval on August 1st, ahead of competitors LG Display and BOE. LG Display, which provides OLED screens for both iPhone 15 Pro models, has received conditional approval for the smaller iPhone 15 Pro, with official approval for the iPhone 15 Pro Max expected within a month or two. The BOE, which supplies OLED screens for the standard iPhone 15 and the larger iPhone 15 Plus, is still awaiting conditional approval from Apple.

Rumors suggest that the ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ and iPhone 15 Pro‌ Max will have slimmer bezels than the iPhone 14 Pro models, and that this reduction in bezel size is leading to manufacturing issues. LG Display in particular is said to have experienced setbacks implementing smaller bezels, and both LG and BOE have had difficulties adding dynamic island cutouts, with the latter supplier likely to lose shipments for the rest of the year as a result. . The BOE was later forced to deliver initial OLED shipments to Samsung, which is now expected to generate higher shipments in 2023 than previously expected.

Although LG Display did not get approval for mass production in time, industry observers indicated that LG’s losses may be limited due to other production disruptions that occurred on the camera module supply side. The image sensors for the iPhone 15 series are primarily supplied by Sony, while the folded zoom components for the Periscope lens on the Pro Max model come from LG Innotek. However, production of both components is said to have fallen short of expectations.

According to the report, Apple is likely to prioritize production of the 6.1-inch Pro model over the 6.7-inch Pro Max, which is currently experiencing the most production disruption, in order to ensure 50-60% of Pro models are available this year. Despite the turmoil, report from the information It indicates that Apple will continue to launch all iPhone 15 models in September as expected, although there may be a limited number of iPhone 15 Pro Max devices available in the first weeks after launch.
